How to write a summary
A summary is a piece of writing whose objective is to synthesize the content of an article. When writing a summary,
- focus on the author’s most important ideas / line of reasoning; omit the less important
- maintain an objective stance for your goal is to report what someone thinks, not express your pov; do not use ‘’I’’ or ‘’my’’
- make sure your text is well organized: it must have an introduction (mandatory elements: the title, the name of the author, time and place of publication as well as the main idea of the article), body and conclusion (your summary conclusion must reflect the article’s conclusion, not what you think about it)
- edit your draft for errors
